Studio Manifesto

Welcome to EPA DANCE. We believe in inclusivity, welcoming dancers of all backgrounds and abilities into our vibrant community. Respect is at the core of everything we do, fostering a supportive environment where everyone is valued and celebrated.

At our studio, we go beyond teaching dance steps; we build lasting friendships and a sense of belonging. Through our programs, dancers not only develop their skills but also gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. We strive for excellence in every aspect, from the quality of instruction to the joy of performance.

Our mission is to create a space where dancers can thrive, where friendships flourish, and where confidence is instilled in every step. Our vision is a community united by a love for dance, where each individual finds their voice and shines brightly on and off the stage. Join us on this journey of growth, connection, and artistic expression!

Before you Start

Before pulling on those dance shoes, it’s important that all families – whether returning or new complete their enrolment so we can ensure we have the most up-to-date contact details for you and have you review the terms and conditions of enrolment. This information includes you and your child’s details, any medical conditions, our waivers, insurances and your payment details.

You can enrol in a class using the following link: EPA DANCE ENROLMENT

If already enrolled, you can access the parent portal to update your details: PARENT PORTAL

We encourage all of our students and families to try a variety of dance styles and we are more than happy to accommodate trial classes for existing students who are wanting to try something a bit different. Please contact our admin team if you would like to try a new class and we will happily schedule you in for a trial (provided the class has not reached capacity).

  • Jazz
  • Ballet

  • Lyrical/Contemporary

PERFORMANCE TROUPE + HIGHER-END CLASSES

Troupe: Troupe is for our students that absolutely love to perform. Students in troupe participate in an additional ‘troupe class’ each week where they learn routines with the goal of performing them on stage at local competitions. Troupe is the perfect program for any child that lives and breathes dance and loves their time on stage. Students in troupe also participate in troupe camp, the annual troupe sleepover (where the kids sleep at the studio), are able to partake in private lessons, and perform as soloists. They also participate in special events like the troupe photoshoot and performances at local community events. Troupe is a BIG commitment, but the kids absolutely thrive and love every second of their time as a troupe student.

Tumbling: Tumbling is for our acro-focused students, who cartwheel all around the house and want to learn trick after trick! Tumbling is a higher-level class that can be done alongside a weekly acro class so that students have additional time working on advanced skills. The things our tumbling kids can do will leave your jaw on the floor! It’s the perfect class for your acro-obsessed little one!

Ballet Exams: Ballet exams provide an exceptional opportunity for students to work towards a dance examination. Students must participate in 2x ballet classes each week and will be invited to attend additional weekend intensive classes in the lead-up to their exams. On exam day, students perform their classwork for an examiner and receive a certificate and grading after the completion of the exam. We follow the ACB syllabus at EPA DANCE, as we know how beneficial it is for our students, and we see time and time again, our ballet exam students going to new heights when they are dedicated and committed to the ballet examinations.

If your childing is LOVING their classes and would like to add another or might be interested in our troupe, tumbling or exam classes, please send through an email – we’d love to chat further!

Class Uniforms and Footwear

At EPA DANCE we believe that wearing studio uniforms give students a sense of belonging to our family as well as creating an identity for our studio in the greater community. Our uniforms also:

  • Encourage discipline
  • Help students resist peer pressure to buy stylish clothes for class
  • Help identify non-students in the studio
  • Diminish economic and social barriers between students
  • Increase a sense of belonging and school pride

You can order uniform items online here!

To purchase dance shoes, please visit the following store

Fees

Our class fees can be found here!

A $30 enrolment fee will be charged at the time of enrolling, this is to cover insurance and music licensing for each dancer.

HOW TO PAY YOUR FEES

Fees are required to be paid via the parent portal using your preferred payment method. You can log in to the parent portal here!

  • Bank Account (88c processing fee)
  • Credit Card (2.20% + 66c processing fee)

Fees that remain unpaid in week 10 of each term, will automatically be charged to the payment method on file.

WITHDRAWALS

Enrolment is presumed for the year and enrolment rolls over from term to term unless we are are notified of withdrawal. If you decide to withdraw from classes mid-term for any reason, the full term fee will be charged.

To withdraw from a class, please email: hello@epadance.com. Refunds will not be issued for any missed classes.

Concert

The opportunity to perform in a concert is an exciting, empowering and confidence-building part of the training process. This is where we love to watch our students learn about the theatre, rehearsals and teamwork while they enjoy the opportunity to showcase their skills in a professionally run production. Concerts are a wonderful way for students to showcase the results of their hard work and for family and friends to join in the pride of their achievement. We love giving all students the chance to perform for their family and friends in this supportive and fun environment and encourage even our youngest and newest performers to be involved.

EPA DANCE is so excited to hold 2 concert opportunities each year!

  • MID-YEAR SHOWCASE – An informal relaxed chance for parents, family and friends to see what the students have achieved in Terms 1 and 2. Costuming is not required for this performance as students wear their class uniform.
    • Dates: Sunday 16th June
  • END OF YEAR CONCERT – A professional display of dance enhanced by amazing costumes, special effects and lighting that is held at Erindale Theatre Waniassa. Detailed concert information is sent out throughout the year which will include everything you need to know. A Concert Performer Fee is charged in the lead up to the End of Year Concert and this is outlined in the Concert Information later in the year. Each class will begin learning their End of Year concert routine at the beginning of Term 3. The students work on this each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.
    • Dates: 14th & 15th December (Week 9, Term 4)
    • Visit our Concert Website HERE for further info!

Attendance

Your child’s attendance in class is very important to their peers and our teaching staff. As a member of our EPA DANCE Family, it is a commitment for you to ensure your child attends their classes on time each week and attends all lessons planned for them. Not only do absences impact the concert routines we create, it also impacts the social and confidence-building principals we work hard to foster in each age group.

If you know ahead of time that your child will be absent due to holidays/vacations, commitments or school trips, please let us know ahead of time so the class impact is minimal. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate make-up sessions for students who miss classes and refunds will not be issued for any missed classes.
